On Monday, March 1, 1976, a young couple, Jack and Cindie Trieber, arrived in the quiet town of Santa Clara, California, to begin serving in a small ministry called North Valley Baptist Church. In 1976, Santa Clara was little more than farms and orchards. The agricultural nature of the valley bore little resemblance to what is now known world-wide as the Silicon Valley.

Likewise, North Valley Baptist Church began with just a handful of church members that met in a lone A-frame building, but under the ministry of Pastor Trieber and with the blessing of God, the church has grown to become the worldwide ministry it is today. God has enabled the church to complete numerous building projects and expand its facilities to include a 65,000-square-foot building at Clyde Avenue, as well as a six-acre college and church campus at De La Cruz Boulevard.

The ministry of North Valley Baptist Schools similarly follows a miraculous path of growth and blessing. The school opened in the fall of 1977 with Mrs. Trieber as its first principal and with only one senior in its first graduating class. The purpose of the school, unchanged after all these years, was to prepare young people for full-time Christian service.

Nearly four decades later, countless lives have been transformed by God through this school ministry. Among our alumni are pastors and missionaries, Christian school administrators and teachers, and scores of Christian businessmen and professionals who faithfully support and further the cause of Christ around the globe. Many of our current students are children of NVBS alumni.

North Valley Baptist Schools is indeed a special place of blessing, and we thank our founders, Pastor and Mrs. Trieber, for faithfully leading this school ministry for so many years.
